‘사랑은 율법을 완성한다’
본문관찰과 묵상
서기관과 바리새인들이 음행하다 잡힌 여인을 끌고와 예수에게 어떻게 할것인가 물었다. 예수를 고발하려한 것이다. 예수는 아무 대답도 없이 손가락으로 땅에 쓰셨다. 죄없는자가 치라는 말에 양심에 찔려 다 떠나갔다.

예수는 음행하다 잡혀온 여인에게 정죄하는 자가 없고 나도 정죄하지 않는다고 했다. 다시는 죄를 짓지말라하고 용서해 보냈다. 사랑은 율법을 완성한다 (롬 13:10). 용서받은 그 여인은 다시는 죄를 짓지 않았을 것이다.
결단과 적용
내가 오늘까지 목사로 살고 선교사로 사는 것은 예수가 나의 죄를 용서하셨기 때문이다. 율법은 죄를 깨닫게 해주나 용서는 하지 못한다. 예수의 사랑은 죄인을 용서하고 살려냄으로 율법을 완성시킨다. 나도 계속 용서하고 살아왔다. 이번에는 어찌해야할지 기도하며 기다린다. 주여 도와주소서!

Observation and meditation on the text
The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman who was caught in adultery, and they asked Jesus how to judge her. They deliberately set a trap to accuse Jesus. Jesus did not answer to them. He bent down and wrote on the ground with his finger. Jesus straitened up and said to them to throw a stone at her if anyone was without sin. Having been convicted by Jesus, they went away one at a time.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
Jesus told her that as no one had condemned her he did not want to condemn her either. Jesus told her to go and leave her life of sin. I do believe that the forgiven woman must have never committed the same sin again.
Decisions and applications
Since I was forgiven by Jesus I could have lived up to now as a pastor and missionary. Law convicts my sin, but it cannot forgive me from my sins. However, Jesus’ love forgives and restores me to live a new life. Love is the fulfillment of the law (Rom 13:10). I have forgiven a couple who sinned against me consistently, but I do not know what to do this time. So, I pray to God and wait for God’s answer. Lord, please help me!
