‘목욕한 사람은 발밖에 씻을 필요가 없다’
본문관찰과 묵상
예수는 십자가에 못박혀 죽을때가 온줄 알고 제자들을 끝까지 사랑했다. 이미 예수를 팔 생각을 가진 가룟유다와도 마지막 만찬을 한후에 제자들의 발을 씻겼다. 베드로가 발뿐 아니라 손과 머리도 씻어 달라고 했다.
QT를 통하여 듣는 주님의 음성
그러나 예수는 이미 목욕한 사람은 발밖에 씻을 필요가 없다고 했다. 이미 예수를 구세주와 주인으로 영접하고 거듭난 자는 매일의 삶 속에서 지은죄만 그때 그때 회개하고 발을 씻듯이 주님의 보혈로 씻김 받으면 된다.
결단과 적용
내가 목사라 하여도 매일 짓는 죄가 있다. 어떤 때는 알면서도, 어떤 때는 부지부식간에 나도 모르게 말로, 행동으로, 더 나아가 생각으로 짓는 죄가 있다. 말씀과 기도속에 깨달음이 올때마다 회개한다. 매일 매일 성화되고 매일 매일 예수를 증거하면서 전에 짓던 죄는 끊어지는 것을 체험하고 살아간다.

Observation and meditation on the text
Jesus loved his disciples to the end as he knew his time to be crucified was getting nearer. Jesus had his last supper with even Judas Iscariot who had already been prompted to betray Jesus by the devil. After dinner, Jesus began to wash the feet of his disciples. Peter asked Jesus to wash his hands and head in addition to his feet.

However, Jesus said that those who had a bath needed only to wash their feet. Anyone who have accepted Jesus as their Savior and Lord and born again need to repent of sins they may commit every day’s life. As Jesus washed the feet of his disciples, I need to be washed my sins I commit in my daily life by the blood of Jesus Christ upon my repentance.
Decisions and applications
Even though I am a pastor, I commit sins in my daily life. Sometimes consciously, and other times unconsciously I commit sins by my words, actions, furthermore in my thoughts. However, whenever I am convinced of my sins during my QT and prayers, I repent immediately of my sins. By doing that I experience that I am done with my sins as I am sanctified daily and by witnessing Jesus everyday too.
