‘차별하지 않으시는 하나님’
본문 관찰과 묵상
가이사랴에 이탈리아 군대의 백부장 고넬료가 있었다. 하나님을 경외하고 구제하고 기도하는 사람이었다. 기도시간에 욥바에 있는 베드로를 청하라는 말씀을 들었다. 욥바에 도착할때쯤 베드로도 기도시간에 지붕에 올라가 시장기를 느꼈다.
QT를 통하여 듣는 주님의 음성
하나님이 보자기에 각종 부정한 짐승과 기는것과 공중에 나는 것을 보여주시며 베드로에게 먹으라고 하였다. 못먹겠다고 했을 때 하나님이 정결하게 하신 것을 속되다고 하지 말라는 음성을 들었다. 베드로나 고넬료나 다 예수 그리스도를 믿는 자에게는 차별이 없다는 새언약을 주셨다.
결단과 적용
나는 구언약으로 사는가? 새 언약으로 사는가? 예수 그리스도가 하나님과 인간사이의 중간에 막힌 담을 십자가로 소멸하셨다. 법조문으로 된 계명의 율법을 폐하시고 유대인이나 이방인이 예수 그리스도를 통하여 한 아버지께 나가게 하셨다. 절대로 사람을 차별하지 않고 주안에서 사랑으로 섬기리라!

Observation and meditation on the text
There was an Italian centurion in Caesarea. He was the man who feared God, and he gave many alms for the poor and he was a man of prayer. God told him to invite Peter who was in Joppa when he was praying to God. When his men were approaching the city Peter went up to roof to pray and he became hungry. God gave both Cornelius and Peter a new covenant that there should be no racial discrimination among the believers in Jesus Christ.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
God showed Peter those unclean animals, reptiles and birds and ordered him to eat them. When Peter declined to eat them, God spoke to Peter that no one should not treat those who were purified by God unclean or impure. There would be no God’s discrimination between Peter and Cornelius; a new covenant was given by God toward Jews and gentiles. If they believe in Jesus, they are Christians.
Decisions and applications
Do I live by the Old Covenant or the new? Jesus Christ destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility between God and men by his cross. He also destroyed the law with its commands and regulations so that both the Jews and the gentiles might have access to the Lord. Therefore, I shall never discriminate anyone but serving them with the love of Jesus.
