‘율법을 지켜서가 아닌 오직 믿음으로’
본문 관찰과 묵상
유대에서 안디옥에 온 유대인들이 이방인들도 모세의 율법대로 할례를 받고 율법을 지켜야 한다고 했다. 바울과 바나바와 몇사람을 예루살렘교회로 보냈다. 예루살렘 공의회에서 베드로는 유대인들도 지키지 못한 율법과 관습을 이방인에게도 요구하는 것은 멍에를 주는 것이라 했다.
QT를 통하여 듣는 주님의 음성
이방인들도 율법을 지켜서가 아니라 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 구원을 얻는다. 율법과 관습은 지키기 힘든 멍에다. 그런데 예수님은 ‘나의 멍에는 쉽고 가볍다’(마 11:30)고 하셨다. 왜? 예수님의 십자가는 율법을 완성하였기 때문이다. 다 이루셨다.
결단과 적용
내가 할수 없는 것을 주님은 ‘내가 다 이루었다’(요 19:30). 율법을 사랑으로 완성하신 예수님을 믿으면 나의 삶도 모든 율법이 완성된다. ‘사랑은 율법의 완성이니라’(롬 13:10). 오늘도 나를 사랑하신 주님을 믿음으로 나의 삶에도 구원이 다 이루는 역사가 계속 되게 하소서!

Observation and meditation on the text
Some Jews who came from Judea to Antioch declared that the gentiles must be circumcised and keeping the law if they wanted to be saved. Antioch church dispatched Paul, Barnabas, and a few leaders to Jerusalem to figure out which one was legitimate. At the Jerusalem Sanhedrin Peter argued against the Jewish teaching that they would give burdens on the gentiles if the Jews required the gentiles to keep all the laws and customs.
I hear the voice of the Lord through QT
The gentiles will also be saved not by keeping the Jewish laws but by believing in Jesus Christ. The laws and customs may become very hard burdens for the gentiles to practice. However, Jesus declares ‘my yoke is easy and light’(Matt.11:30). Why? Because Jesus completed all the laws by paying off the price upon the cross. He finished it.
Decisions and applications
What I could not finish is done by Jesus, ‘I finished it’ (John.19:30). If I believe in Jesus who has fulfilled all the requirements of the law by his love, my life also shall complete all the laws by believing in him. ‘Love fulfills the law’ (Rom. 13:10). Lord, please keep on fulfilling all the laws in my life by helping me to believe in your love today!
